Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has come hard on youths who make themselves available for thuggery and election manipulation during elections. The Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing the people of Abia North said that such youths lack the moral justification to demand for dividends of democracy.
The lawmaker while speaking at a function in Arochukwu chided the youths not to be object of manipulation in the hands of desperate politicians. The former governor of Abia state went on to express sadness that some youths mortgage their future when they accept stipends during election for the purpose of manipulation and other electoral malpractice.
He said: “People should be ashamed that they are still doing thuggery. Then why are you crying for democratic dividends?
“You should not ask for democratic dividends because you have been paid. It is a one-day job.
“So how do you expect roads, how do you expect schools to be renovated, how do you want women to have free medical services”? he said.
