When Mr Okechukwu Chita from Anambra state got married to his heartrob, Mrs Chinwendu Chita from Abia state, he looked forward to a happy marital life, unknown to him that he would be turned to a punching bag by his wife.
Trouble started when the couple who reside in Lagos were unable to bear children, several years after the marriage.
The development reportedly angered the wife as the husband showed no commitment neither was he bothered over their inability to have children.
Oceanicnews learnt that the wife subsequently turned violent and assaulted her husband at any slightest misunderstanding. In fact, on the 22nd December, 2019, Mrs Chinwendu locked up her husband and beat him mercilessly, and forcefully collected the sum of 650,000 in other to free him.
Help however came the way of Mr Okechukwu as he managed to escape when the wife began beating him on Monday at there residence in Alhaji Agbeke street, Ago Okota area of Lagos state, he reported to the police and the wife was consequently arrested.
She has since been charged before Ejigbo margistrate court for the assault and granted bail in the sum of 700,000 with two sureties in like sum.
