The people of Umuida and Unadu Communities have been thrown into fear over the sudden death of a motorcycle rider, popularly called Okada and a mentally challenged man in what was described as an ‘accident’.
Oceanicnews gathered that the incident, which took place in Umuida community on the first weeks of February 2020, was as a result of a road accident involving the Okada man and the mad man.
It was reported that after the crash, the Okada rider died on the spot, and the mad man allegedly made away with his motorcycle.
To the shock of everyone, the mentally challenged man was seen the next morning, lying lifeless along the road in Inere village.
This ugly development prompted the police to swing into action, in a bid to unravel the cause of the mysterious deaths.
The two victims, as gathered, hailed from Unadu community, a non Igbo speaking community in Enugu state.
The police in a bid to get to the root cause of the matter, made indiscriminate arrests in both communities.
As at the time of filling this report, normalcy has been seen returned to the affected communities, perhaps as a result of the lockdown as the world battles the coronavirus pandemic.
