An Igbo group going by the name ‘Igbo Youths For Equity’, has stated that the arrest and prosecution of the former governor of Imo State, Senator Anayo Rochas Okorocha has a political undertone as it is, according to the group, a calculated attempt by persons outside Igbo land to scuttle the 2023 Igbo presidential agenda.
Accusing the EFCC of allowing itself to be used as a tool for political witch-hunt, the group in a statement signed by the spokesman, Captain Izundu Marcel expressed worries over “attempts by some highly placed politicians from outside Igboland to frustrate the Igbo presidency agenda.”
It said that Igbo youths would not sit idly while some interests continue to allegedly single out their key leaders for humiliation.
“We are concerned that over the last two years, there seems to have been deliberate attempt by a group of political hawks from outside Igboland to humiliate and demoralise key leaders from Igboland whom they consider as threats to their ambition.
