Mr Chibuzor Ejike has been remanded in a correctional centre by the an Ondo state Magistrates Court sitting in Akure for allegely pretending to be a kidnaper in a bid to collect ransom, an act that contravened the laws of Ondo state.
The suspect who was arrested in Port Hacourt, Rivers state, had reportedly claimed to be behind the abduction of a one Gold Kolawole, who was abducted on the premises of the Sotitobire Praising Chapel Akure.
The suspect reportedly sent a text message to Mrs Bisola Babatunde and demanded the sum of #800,000 to release Gold.
Recall that Gold Kolawole was reported missing during a service in the church in November 10, 2019, and has not been found. The suspect was arraigned before the court on three counts of felony, threat and demanding with menace.
The magistrate adjourned the case till February 20, 2020, for further hearing.
