Man abducted, killed and buried in a shallow grave in Enugu community.

The Police command in Enugu state has launched an investigation into the abduction, killing and alleged harvesting of organs of a man in Akpaturu village, Umuida community, in Igbo Eze North local government areas of the state.

It was reported that the victim, a peasant farmer and labourer has gone to work in the farm but failed to return in the evening as he usually does.
This development prompted his children and neigbors to organize a search party and combed the nook and crannies of the village bush to no avail.

However, the search continued in the morning and paid off when the body of the victim was discovered with the head buried in a freshly dug pit on the floor of a palm tree with some body parts allegedly removed.

The incident reportedly took place on the 12th day of November 2019.
This is coming just few weeks after a soldier butchered a woman in a Catholic church in the community.

When our reporter visited the village, it waa deserted as innocent villagers made to escape falling into the dragnets of the police.
The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ogrute Police station was not reachable for further comment.
