There’s palpable fear in Nsukka local government area of Enugu state, as the immediate past Transitional leader of the council, Hon Mrs Chinwe Ugwu, today, July 4 2020, died after a brief illness, barely two weeks after the death of the elected chairman, late Hon Patrick Omeje.
Late Hon Omeje who also reportedly died after a brief illness is yet to be buried. But his deputy, Hon Bar. Cosmas Ugwueze has been sworn in to fill the vacuum created by the death of his boss.
The death of Hon Chinwe, remembered for her unpopular empowerment method (wheelbarrow, head pan, trowel and diggers), has heightened fear amongst the political leaders of Nsukka and Enugu North at large.
