Emene Killings: Return Snatched Weapons, Ugwuanyi Begs Suspects.

Enugu state Governor, His Excellency Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has pleaded with those suspected to be in custody of weapons allegedly seized from security agencies during the clash between the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) and security agents in Emene areas of the state.

The governor made the appeal after an Emergency Security Council meeting held on Tuesday. He pleaded that the weapons be either taken to the security agents or the nearest traditional rulers who will in return take them to the relevant agencies.

Governor Ugwuanyi said, “Following the emergency Security Council meeting, it has become necessary to give those responsible for getting to the root of these unfortunate developments a little more time to complete their work.

“I beg those in custody of weapons snatched from security agents to return them to the agencies or the nearest traditional ruler who will return same to the appropriate security agency.”
