The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma has stated that the All Progressive Congress, APC, ahead of the 2023 general elections, is not interested in zoning the presidential ticket to the Southeast.
The governor who recently hosted President Mohammed Buhari in Imo stated this when he appeared on Channels Television, dismissing claims of APC zoning its presidential ticket to the Southeast.
He instead said that the party is looking for a Nigerian president, not an Igbo president.
He said: “We are not looking for an Igbo President. We are looking for a President of Nigeria.
“We as a party APC believe what we are practicing here is partisan democracy and every politician must be loyal to his party.
“At the end of the day it is the decision of the party that you belong to that will matter.”
