The executive governor of Anambra state, His Excellency Willie Obiano, has made it know that the state may pay workers more than the approved 30,000 minimum wage bill. This he said while addressing members of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees(NULGE), during their 7th Quadrennial State Conference in Awka.
Assuring workers that no state would surpass Anambra in payment of their workers, the governor, represented by the Head of Service, Harry Udu, further announced that workers in the state will henceforth receive their leave allowance on or before December 5th, while their December salaries would be paid on or before December 15th.
He said:“ We will surprise workers in the state when the implementation of the minimum wage would start .
“ The state government and organised Labour are in partnership in the development of the state so your requests are not misplaced”.
