3 Die, Shops Razed As Yorubas And Hausas Clash In Osun.

Oceanicnews reports that a fiht has broken out between Hausa youths and Indigenes of Iyere village, Atakumosa West Local Government Areas of Osun state.

Though the Osun state police command has stated that only one loss of live was recorded, an eye witness account said over three deaths were recorded and shops razed during the fracas that occured on Monday.

According to an eye witness who disclosed to a Punch correspondent, he said a Fulani an Hausa man fought with an Hausa man and on the process of seperating them, the peacemaker who is a Yoruba man got killed. This, according to the source, made the youths to kill two Hausa youths in reprisal.

“Unfortunately, the peacemaker got killed and he was a Yoruba man. Some residents, in reprisal, killed two Hausa youths. That was the cause of the crisis. And it lasted all night.

“Roadside stalls and markets were completely razed. Goods worth several millions of naira were lost to the crisis. Policemen and soldiers have arrived the town and everywhere is quiet now,” he said.
